Roof Terrace Battersea

The Brief was to create a simple yet smart outdoor sitting-room on the roof terrace of this modern London Penthouse apartment, from which to take in the amazing view over the River Thames and London beyond. The Roof Terrace had to include the provision of some sort of shade. Multi-stemmed Himalayan Birch was chosen for the pots because it looks interesting in all seasons and has a modern sculptural element to it. The top of the range Teak furniture was imported from America. The table was half-filled with poured concrete when it was made in order to support the tilting parasol, which it was designed to give support to, on the potentially windswept roof terrace.
